a Kingdom expansion initiative
A LETTER FROM OUR PASTOR
Johnny was a high school student. He visited First McKinney with a friend and placed his faith in Jesus on Easter morning 2019. Within a few weeks, a young man in our church started meeting with him, helping him grow as a disciple, showing him how to live and love like Jesus. Now, Johnny is on fire for Jesus and discipling other young men at the University of Oklahoma. He is experiencing the abundant life that Christ offers.
This is multiplication in action. God’s plan is not only to add to His people but to multiply through His people. Every believer is called to a mission far beyond sitting contentedly in a church pew every week. We get to experience a deeper level of His joy when we become carriers of the gospel to the world, when we help other people know Jesus and then teach them to live and love like Him.
This is a pivotal moment for our church. Seeing opportunities God created for us, we’re stepping into a two-year journey called Multiply. This initiative will accelerate disciple making and church planting while helping us steward our facility for the next generation. We believe it has the potential to transform our future and the future of more lives than we can count.
Over the 150-year history of our church, many people who have come before us made incredible sacrifices of their time, talent and treasure. Each one of those who sacrificed before us are part of Johnny’s story. Each one of them are part of our stories.
I challenge each of you to have a personal encounter with God. Ask Him with an open heart how He wants you to participate in multiplying His kingdom. Then, obey Him. If you do, you have the opportunity to experience the joy of Jesus working through you for His glory and your good.
